Harvest Festival

A big thank you to everyone who brought in produce for the Harvest Festival this week, (12th October).
Key Stage One entertained their parents with autumn songs , including their favourite ‘Big Red Combine Harvester’ and everyone enjoyed apple tarts which the children had made themselves.  Key Stage 2 harvest was taken by the Reverend Albrow and all the food collected was taken to the St Petrock’s Centre.

Autumn Garden Day

6th October 2012
It was great to see so many families on Saturday when we opened up the school for our Autumn Garden Day.  Lots of work was done with beds being weeded and replanted with spring bulbs, but we were especially pleased to get the compost bins re-sited and lots of work was done to the pond area which we hope will be full re-instated by the spring.

A New Year, A New Head & A New Building!

As we ease ourselves into another new year we welcome our new headteacher, Ms Brooks, who has taken over from Mrs Sutton who retired to spend more time with her grand children in July. Ms Brooks was previously the headteacher at another Exeter school - Newtown Primary School and so has plenty of experience dealing with the trials and tribulations of a primary school, its pupils, parents and staff. We also await the completion of the new building which will house the new canteen and four classrooms. We hope to see the ground floor ready for use after the Autumn half term and the rest of the building should be ready for business before the Christmas break. Mr Browning, our site manager has been documenting the new build photographically, so we shall be publishing the best of the images on the blog in the next few weeks. Keep watching the blog to see the how the building developes as it nears completion and how it will be furnished before the children and staff move in.
